Whether new to glass or interested in exploring your jewelry creating potential, this workshop will teach students to cut and use a variety of glass and specialty glasses to create unique pieces. No previous experience is necessary.

We will cover the basics of glass cutting using VisArts studio tools, and discuss design challenges for working small.

The effects possible using dichroic glass, reactive glass, selective use of frit and combining glass of different thickness and opacity are demonstrated and explained. A selection of colorful glass and specialty glasses is provided, as are tools and use of studio cutters and grinders.

Your pieces will be fused in our kiln, and finished with silver plated findings to make 8 finished pieces.

*** Students are welcome to bring their own accessory glass BUT it must be COE90 – Bullseye compatible.

Class work will be available for pickup in 10 working days. If you would like to bring a pre-paid labeled small flat rate-Priority Box, VisArts can mail finished pieces to your desired address.

This class is for students ages 14 and up.

Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
