This four-week, 12-hour survey course will provide students who don’t have experience working with glass an introduction to the creative possibilities of kiln-formed glass, with a focus on safety, tools, basic firing, and cold-working techniques. Students will design and create four projects: 1) a 4 x 8″ curved dish, 2) a 12 × 6” platter, 3) a 4 x 10” standing wave, and 4) a variety of fused glass pendants.
This class is offered through VisArts’ Center for Craft Studies and is partially underwritten by a Windgate Foundation grant.
